The Paintings of Joan Mitchell
Published in Hardcover by University of California Press (June, 2002)
Average review score:

A vivid, highly recommended pickJoan Mitchell was one of the more notable painters of Abstract Expressionism in the period between 1950-1980, yet her fame has until now been largely restricted to professional circles. The collaborative effort of Jane Livingston, Linda Nochlin, Yvette Lee, Maxwell L. Anderson, Paintings Of Joan Mitchell is published to accompany a major exhibition at the Whitney Museum, and offers full-page color plates of Mitchell's paintings to accompany further insights on her craft and achievements. A vivid, highly recommended pick which stands alone from its exhibit foundations.

The Paleoindian and Early Archaic Southeast
Published in Paperback by Univ of Alabama Pr (Txt) (November, 1996)
Average review score:

The Paleoindian and Early Archaic SoutheastVery useful collection of papers and summaries of papers on paleo and early archaic Americans in this region. The thought provoking theories on settlement and hunting practices that evolved along with the changing climate make this well worth reading. I keep my copy handy and refer back to it often.

Pancho Villa's Revolution by Headlines
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Oklahoma Pr (Txt) (March, 1900)
Average review score:

Propaganda and the Mexican Civil War 1914-1915This book is concerned with the organized efforts of the Villistas to influence public and governmental opinion in "El norte", the big source of arms and cash needed for mounting an organized military campaigns. During the height of the struggle against the usurper Huerta and then the fractionating of the revolutionary movement into the Carranzistas, the Villistas, and the Zapatistas, the three major groups of adherents. But no one really controlled many of the local chieftans and the allegiances and loyalties of many of the local warlords changed as advantage shifted from the Villistas in early 1915 to the Carranzistas led by Alvaro Obregon. By the fall of 1915 Villa had been thoroughly defeated at Agua Prieta, Sonora, by Gen. Calles, and had dispersed his army into the hills to emerge in March and attack Columbus, NM. By that time the propaganda battle had been lost as well and his organizations dispersed. In summary, this is a highly detailed study meant for the specialist and not for the general public. For that I still recommend John S.D. Eisenhower's book. See my review on this site.

A great Web guide!!This is an excellent guide to the web. Just the sort of book we've all been waiting for! Easy to understand and highly informative. It tells you in straightforward terms how the world wide web developed from the early Internet days, how it works and you can use it in many different ways. For example, it points you towards very useful web sites on health, education and business.
I passed my copy onto my young nephew. He was fascinated by it and has now begun to use the web himself to help him with his studies and find out lots of info about his favourite sports!

Paul Anderson the Mightiest Minister: The Mightiest Minister
Published in Paperback by Ironmind Enterprises (February, 1989)
Average review score:

Incredible!!!Very thoroughly researched. Gives a lot of insight into who Paul Anderson was. Does a very complete job of making the case for many of Anderson's unofficial lifts being legit.
Paul Anderson was simply an amazing person and the story of how he dedicated his life to Christ while at the peak of his lifting career and how he used his physical gifts to help troubled teens is very inspirational.

People of the Wind
Published in Paperback by Baen Books (April, 1993)
Average review score:

Excellent interplay between racesThis may be Anderson's best work. The interplay between two races, the flying carnivorous Ythri and the human Terrans, in the midst of a powerful space attack, makes for an interesting study. The book is also important because it is the bridge between two, originally separate, future histories. A descendant from the chronologically earlier history plays an important part in the later one.

Performance: Live Art Since 1960
Published in Hardcover by Harry N Abrams (October, 1998)
Average review score:

Ground-breaking book that redefines the study of performanceI have been a fan of RoseLee Goldberg's books for years, but she really has out-done herself with this visually stunning book. She has captured the essence of performance pictorially without diluting the "live-art" aspect of it. Some of her chapters could be called mini-performances, themselves. Goldberg organizes her subject into conceptual chapters that keep the material from falling into strictly a popular phenomenon. A must buy for academics and non-academics alike. A great Christmas gift for an art lover. The pictures in this book are gorgeous and fun. A real treat.
This book is divided into 2 volumes and the editors have done an excellent job in introducing the subject from basics. There has been extensive review of the previous text and the changes have been made in the text in line with the latest research in this field.
Every chapter includes detailed explanation of anatomy, pathophysiology and current accepted management. The authors have also included opinions of other cardiologist around the globe although they may not agree with that particular opinion.
The authors have also included chapters on the latest imaging techniques . Mysteries about Complex cardiac malformations are unravalled in excellent diagrams. Colour plates are also found in both volumes.
This latest edition is priced much lower than the earlier edition and it is a must buy for anyone interested in Pediatric Cardiology.
